Dustin Lee/Scotty Vortekz, CZW Night of Infamy VI () Damage eventually hits a sit out powerbomb through a corner table to retain.ĭrake Younger/Danny Havoc vs. Winds up going too long to be great, not learning from the Brain Damage/Drake god damner six months prior. It doesn't work, and he winds up getting beaten down more and more. Toby slowly wears out Brain Damage and seems to bet that he can outlast The Terminator instead of trying for a lot of early kill shots like people have been failing with for two or three years now. Not a great match, but a fun bloody brawl between two killing machines. They go right into the end after that, and Damage hits the Package Piledriver back onto the board from there to win.

Feels like he was supposed to and either was knocked out or couldn't get out of the wire. Botched bit at the end as Brain Damage powerbombs Drake onto the board and the ref stops before three and Drake doesn't kick out. Pane of glass bump gives Drake his transition into a hope spot comeback, but the blood loss is just so much.

The cuts turn into full scale fushers, and it adds a lot to this, on top of having the benefit of some heavy gimmicks and the benefit of the main event, so they can just do EVERYTHING for ten minutes. Both guys bleed early and Drake does a wild dive within the first few minutes. Insane stuff for such a short feeling match. Justice hits a desperation Pain Thriller onto the barbed wire board after that to win. Justice - or anyone - kicking out of the Drake's Landing (or Cop Killa or Vertebreaker or whatever the name is for a given person) is always gonna rub me the wrong way too, but this was a big dumb match at least, and it was a big dumb kickout that worked reasonably well within these confines. Some nutty barbed wire board stuff near the end too.

Justice Pain also takes a few WILD bumps himself and there's also some rough periods from him and the offense isn't all perfect, but I won't look a gift horse in the match, because for the most part, this is a blast. Justice is no great wrestler but Drake works super hard and almost dies a few times.

Might as well watch this while I've got the show open. Drake Younger, CZW Out With The Old, In With The New () Eddie Kingston weathers the storm and FINALLY puts Hero down with an all time gross Backfist to the Future and collapses on top of him to win. Constant slaps and little shitty things like move theft, or Hero putting an especially big hop to a back senton to hurt King that much more, things like that. The hate is there, but it's also an incredibly disrespectful match. There's dips to it, but they always pull it back in time, so it's hard to say any of it is truly unnecessary. They both bleed off a gross headbutt exchange that would be maybe unfathomable if this took place three months later. They both get dirty, but they also both have terrific moments of triumph and fire. By now, they've both done so much to each other that there's no true heel or face, and it's just two guys who really really hate each other, and this also works to that. A few incredible callbacks to the long feud too, especially with Kingston repeatedly choking Hero with his bare hands for longer segments. It's an immediate slugfest, and that lends itself to a whole spectrum of terrific Eddie Kingston sells for different shots, and while Hero isn't as constantly expressive in those moments as Eddie, he delivers a lot too. It's an incredibly hateful match from bell to bell, and there's a million great moments. It's a proper blowoff and realistically the best match in CZW history. The last one I haven't reviewed, and even more than the IWA one, it feels the biggest. Eddie Kingston, CZW Out With The Old, In With The New () Damage recovers and hits the Package Piledriver to win.Ĭhris Hero vs. He doesn't press the advantage enough and misses a corkscrew press off the top. Havoc is an especially great underdog as he's goofy and weird enough to be relatable while still being a pretty great athlete. It's always so cool to see individual faces in the crowd go from indifference to jumping up and down and shouting. Brain Damage sells and bleeds a lot and after Havoc hits like ten unprotected chair shots in a row, the crowd absolutely comes alive again. Brain Damage hits some gross rights early on and staples his tongue to his thick wrist gauntlet and beats the shit out of him, but Havoc slips in and then gets more and more in. Really well done legitimizing match for Havoc. Brain Damage, CZW Out With The Old, In With The New ()
